My brother runs a hackintosh, its very stable actually!! The only problem with it is the auto update feature is a no go, you cannot use that or you will brick it. Your best bet to really get the full apple experience is to save money and buy a mac.

Ok well first what type of disc are you using? Leo4all? Also what type of laptop is it? Does your spu support SS3? PM for more info I don't know how happy the mods will be with the talk of running a Mac OS on a PC...

It actually will affect your fps!!!! Your graphics card has to push two monitors and with the 2nd one being at such a high resolution it puts an extra strain on your graphics card.

Yea its going to be 24/7! Ill look into Windows Home Server , I think ill end up going with FreeNAS because you can beat free! (Acts as if bittorrent doesn't exist. :P)

Just dug around a bit further and found that Open firmware is the actual software that is used by default in mac OSX to change the boot stuff, you are correct that the actual term is EFI. I'v always heard it called Open firmware on IRC and such but then again im new to macs, these are my first 2...

Hmmm they both seem to fit the bill, I was also just reading that a program called "FreeNAS" would work great. The files on the server will only be accessed by my 2 computers.

Hes partially right, they do not have BIOS they have Open Firmware. Its the same as bios basically. They can use ANY video card that uses the PCI-E interface or PCI interface. As long as the card manufacture provides UNIX drivers. (mac drivers)
