    I fired my shotgun...

12 GA Shotguns are fun, I go clay pidgeon shooting once or twice a year with a Browning BPS. The big problems with Hi-Points is they are obscenely ugly, heavy, and bulky. They do work though, and there's something to say for a $150 pistol that works. Also: Hi Celegorm, root, long time no see.

    Replacement GPU coolers

I have an EVGA GeForce GTX 670 4gb SC with a stock blower that is excruciatingly loud and runs hot. Recommendations on a replacement cooler? Also long time no see, etc etc.

    Another school shooting

Ah good old CF, I remember a gun debate here years ago. This place is full of Europeans who think their opinions mean something to Americans. We are nut jobs who love our guns, and you just hate that so much. Frankly I'm more concerned with real problems, like mental healthcare and suicides...

    1155 Socket

Yeah, you don't take anything off of the motherboard, you just install the bracket exactly the same way you would on an 1156 board.

    1155 Socket

Yes. In fact I'm using a Noctua NH-D14 on my 1155 right now.

Intel Ivy Bridge i7 3770K - Just bought it

It's nothing to get excited over for Sandy Bridge users, that's for sure. It is however a massive jump for me.

Intel Ivy Bridge i7 3770K - Just bought it

So I took the plunge, upgrading from an old Athlon II X4 630 I bought for $99 in January of 2010. Can't wait, haven't had a big upgrade in years. Anybody else buy an Ivy Bridge? I can't imagine Sandy users are compelled since it's not a huge improvement over it.

Windows 7 DOES suck at one thing

Sorry to hear that. I have taken a hard drive with Windows 7 on it out of a computer, placed it in another with COMPLETELY different hardware, and have had it boot successfully. My general rule of thumb, is that if you are going to replace the motherboard, you might as well reinstall the OS.

    Duke Nukem Forever is back!

Actually, when Gearbox was asked to take over DNF, they were asked to finish it and "port it consoles.." That, and Borderlands wasn't that bad on the PC. Yes there was no console and it could have been better, but if you think that was a bad port, then you sir have not played very many ports.

Freezes, BSoDs, and hair pulling oh my!

I'm sure I mentioned in there somewhere that I've used different versions of windows, along with the whole completely different hardware thing. I NEVER let Windows Update take care of drivers for me. That's my job. As I mentioned, these issues never arised in Windows XP.. just 7. I would...
