    Vid Card help

psu in the hp pavilion So how did your psu upgrade go? I was told by hp that this was not possible because of the crazy motherboard they put in pavilions, the nagami-gl8e. I was thinking about putting a 7600gs or 7600gt in mine and hope that the 300W psu doesn't quit, or quit anything else...

    upgrading an hp pavilion a1450n

Update on HP a1450n video card So I wanted to update the integrated gpu on my HP a1450n AMD x2 4200+. This model is limited out of the box with a 300W power supply, so I bought a low-end graphics card on Newegg for $50, a PNY 6600. I installed it very easily and the graphics are great. I...

    Hot Deal?

You can get an HP Pavilion athlon x2 4200+ with 2GB for $600 on Amazon. It doesn't come with a screen though, and there is still the need for a gfx card and power supply limitations.

    upgrading an hp pavilion a1450n

Never thought about external. I would much rather replace the psu or find a suitable gpu for 300W. I don't need to have the fastest gamer ever, I just need a step up from the integrated.

I couldn't find it in the specs, but I don't think that a 7900gt will run well with the 300W power supply~ am I wrong freakrider?

    upgrading an hp pavilion a1450n

So I drank the koolaid and bought an HP pavilion, athlon x2 4200+, a1450n. It has integrated video that I want to upgrade, but the psu is only 300W, which limits my choices somewhat. The psu is a mini-atx. Who can tell me if I can put a larger PSU in the box to handle better gfx cards...
