47-52 is normal pretty much average, you should only get concerned if it goes 60C and over idling, you can definitely shave some degree's off either with a good thermal paste, you can never go wrong with AS5, or a CPU cooler upgrade. like mentioned Zalman's are good.

On vista you just need click properties on "My computer" and it should tell you below where it tells you how much ram you have installed, on XP if im not wrong its on Control Panel under System Information. I dont think CPU=Z would tell you if your OS is 32-Bit or 64-Bit

I'd say yes to, processor pins is something that is never supposed to be bent or touch in any sort of way.. check that out immediately. is this the first time taking your processor off its socket?
