Hi all! Discussing an operating system is not against any rules. Now sure, if you start in on "Here's how you steal someone's facebook password" that will get this thread locked... but not just troubleshooting a platform that, as OP accurately described, is used for much more than nefarious...

Have you tried doing the network copy as @Xinam suggested?

I'm willing to bet money your issue is (partly) due to the partition type. FAT32 cannot allocate space for any single file larger than 4GB. If you have any, those won't be copied (so XP says all is good and it's technically correct... larger files get skipped). Driver updates and port speeds...

If you're booting from a spinning disk drive and using an SSD as a cache drive for the slower drive, then yes, this will help. If not for that specific use, this won't help much if at all.

Was hammered before noon. Helped replace an alternator completely drunk. Then drank more and lit fireworks (bestest best idea ever!). Although my right thumb would disagree as a sparkler was lit way too close and I have a giant blister now :(
