I do a lot of digital scrapbooking too and i use a lot of brushes. I also i combine different backgrounds to make completely new ones. So when you explain it like that it makes more sense to me lol. I know some people do draw their own logos and such for example. I'd love one of those tablets...

I wasn't really going for a realistic look at all. I usually don't with my manipulations. This was leaning towards more of a fantasy look. This may not be my best example. I have other forest pictures that are a little more on the fantasy side i think.

I don't even remember what i did to alter it. I usually just go with the flow. I think it kinda looks magical lol, but hey not everyone is gonna like it. I can kinda see what you are saying though.

If you've already read The Hobbit then you could go right into Lord of the Rings then. The Hobbit is kind of like a prequel to Lord of the Rings anyways. I would also suggest The Davinci code and Angels and Demons.
