Getting Sound to work in Linux is pain. I got Mandrake 9.0 (DOwnloading 9.1 currently). Anyway, if u have on board, it will be a extremely hard thing to get it working. Just try going to the sound settings and chaning around (Threaded sound, ALSA and stuff) Good luck

P4 is made to run safe, It could be over clocked a whole lot. on the other hand, Athlon (all AMD) are already over clocked, running less stably, makin it hotter. Try takin the heat sink off a Athlon and fry's in about 2 sec.

Yup, a large number of different ways. I have to say this too, Go with XP Pro. XP pro is just a pimped up version of windows ME. Anyway, if u want real Operating systems, go with Linux (mandrake distro is cool)

if u dont want it popping up, goto the RUN->msconfig and look at the program thats evoking what every command promp. If u cant it there try looking in the registry

hmmm... usually Linux can read NTFS systems. It works on mine. I got Mandrake 9.0

Try TweakXP, download it, it has that option where it makes u see the admin account when u logon just like a normal user That was a long time ago, so I THINK tweakxp can enable that. Or its somewhere in the registry

I know u asked for Redhat or suse but i would rather go with Mandrake distro. MANDRAKE 9.1
