I've asked him and he says its a fairly new keyboard and the shift key isn't stuck or anything. Any help?

My friend's keyboard has started to type things as it'll do if he had shift pressed. For example all letters type up as capitals and numbers as symbols just like it will if pressed with shift. Has shiftlock (if there is one) been enabled somehow, or what is wrong there?

Exactly the same happened to me. No, the memory is perfectly ok, its probably just not compatible fully. Are you sure it is?

I think there is some background program thats on some auto-activate thingy or probably refresh something. Not sure, no idea.

I've tried it, it doesn't. It does fine when the 256MB is in, but not for the new one.

Is there anything to change or adjust in the bios maybe? I'm not that experienced in bios business either, I know how to get in and how to change stuff, but what to change I don't know.
