The problem dude_se isn't peculiar to this forum...it seems to be more to do with the ages and maturity of the members...when you have a forum with a large percentage under the age of 25 you get more flames... on the forum I normally do post there is never flaming...none...it never gets that...

There are only three reasons why a thread is ever closed... 1. flame war 2. suspected flame war 3. spam there never is another reason to arbitrarily close down an active thread.

I've been coming here for awhile...mostly lurking...this forum has always...always...had flame wars. The mods need the liberty to exercise their discretion on which threads to leave open and which to close...that's why they're mods...assumingly because they've shown that they can keep a level...

Believe it or not I've seen some Mods with fewer than 200 posts in forums...depends on the person...and sometimes people who have been around longer or who have more posts don't want to be mods. :)
