I have a socket 939 mobo. I couldn't find any processors ascending past 4600+ for that socket.
Does anyone have a recommendation perhaps for a processor that would do an 8800GT justice that I overlooked?
Wait a second... If I had cancelled my step-up and replaced it with a step-up order for the 512 MB GTS I still could have gotten the new card for free since it's still less than I originally paid. Wow.
Well then I'm screwed because it's the best that my motherboard can support, other than a 4600+. What a disappointment, I was really looking forward to running Crysis well. On the places of low framerate there doesn't seem to be much difference between high and medium settings, so I reckon it...
Following the reviews concerning the superiority of the 8800GT to the 8800GTS (especially in the game Crysis), I immediately traded in my recently purchased GTS for a GT. I've benchmarked in Crysis now and can say firmly without a doubt that my results are essentially the very same, give or...
I said that it is not just in Windows Movie Maker. Windows Movie Maker just reacts to it the worst.
I have a feeling that there may be something wrong with my Fraps codec. If this is so, how could I remove a codec and try to replace it?
On a former motherboard I was not having this issue, but having rebuilt my PC I am having trouble making movies using Windows Movie Maker on account of a lot of strange vertical tearing that I get when viewing an .avi visual clip transition to another.
I also see this tearing sometimes when...
I have just noticed a permanent, very, very thin black line that stretches from one side of my monitor to the other. What may have caused this and is there a way to fix it? Is it getting time to get a new monitor? I have had this one for at least 4 or 5 years.
I just got a Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme music and some 2.1 altec lansing speakers. Now no matter how many ways I try to plug in my microphone, it doesn't detect it at all.
Does anyone know what I can try to possibly resolve this?
I recently (yesterday) purchased a Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music Card a new set of speakers (Aletc Lansing VS2321 2.1 Speaker set -- speakers + subwoofer) and was very pleased. However, while playing a game I thought that I heard a high squeak (like it sounds on some set-ups when you plug in...
Actually, most of the items are not listed in the startup selection of msconfig, and after d/ling Enditall2 and looking at the descriptions for most of the processes that are un-endable, it appears that my Norton protection is accountable for a large swathe of them. Oh well.
Was it not clear that the majority of said apps cannot be closed by me? It says either that they are crucial to the computer running or that I don't have the authority to do so.
I have an HP machine with a 3800+ AMD Athlon 64 and a 7800 GT vid card, along with 1 Gig RAM. However, I have about 40 background processes running AT BEST. If I really work at it I may be able to get it down to 35. But there are so many things running that I can't close because they are...
