I was always told if you need 400w then get a 450/500 cause anything over was just useless. Suppose whoever told me that a couple years ago was wrong lol.

You said you have a mini tower? Make sure you know the dementions of the PSU holder. You dont wanna buy one to big and have it not fit the case.

I would recommend upgrading the PSU. Mine was on its way but when I upgraded to my Insignia 400w PSU it fixed all my computers problems. Its all based on what you want. Upgrading your power supply isnt going to hurt your computer.

I would take a close look at both and what the specs are for both just to be safe.

I have the GT 1030 and it has amazed me. There isn't really a game i cant run with it besides stuff like ARK, Black ops 3, etc. Basically anything 2015ish and under. Ive also got 2160p almost all the time and 4k videos.

Yes I do, and considering the Pentium is around the Athlon price I might consider buying the Pentium. Never really branched out from AMD processors besides the Intel Duo.

Does your GPU packaging have a minimum PSU wattage? It will be on the back. My 1030 GPU needs a minimum of 300 watts, and believe it when you read it. I was using a 125w PSU after installing the GPU and it kept freezing, upgrading to a Insignia 400w PSU and boom, problem solved.
