I'm building a new system and after looking around i decided to go ATI, now its down to getting a 4870x2 or just a 4870

I am building myself a new computer primary for gaming and have a question that some of you may be able to answer. I have been looking at getting a 4870x2 but wont be using a resolution higher than 1900 x 1200, would i be spending more than i need to for the resolution i'll be using

Its going to be used for gaming, editing and using some graphics programs(photoshop, after effects.) that's why i plan on the 8 gigs of RAM, Vista can see all of it ok i'll look into the faster RAM but i still want the 8gigs i thought i had read that the CF was faster, I'll look into that...
