    Brand new build, halp

I see. So is there something in between? I'm really struggling to understand what's been going on with AMD releases over the last couple of years  What card would you get with that build? Lets say $350 max

Fair enough, i'll pick one out now, I don't know why I'd thought socket was the only important thing. This might be another 2 weeks or so, if i don't mind waiting for hotfixes would you recommend I still go for the 5700, or go for something like the 590? I'm happy not grabbing an nvidia card...

    Brand new build, halp

Oh okay, I thought it just needed an LGA 1151 socket. What is it I should be looking for? Cool, what should I be looking at around that price range ($300) then? RTX 2060 perhaps? Or is the last generation of RX's a better pick? And if so, what is the last generation? I'm really really...

    Brand new build, halp

Hey guys, I'm a little out of sync with hardware nowadays, but I was helped here like 7 years ago, and that PC is only just showing true signs of his age, so time for a new one. I just bought a 1TB 860 EVO SSD, so i'll stick that in, but I have it already so please don't recommend replacing...

How many people are undecided when ordering at McDonalds?

Morning = recommend coffee/breakfast. Night = recommend mcflurry. Day = recommend trending. Use ML to recommend an item when one's been added to the order. Hire me Ronald!

    PHP Slim Post Request

Oh okay, makes sense, thanks. And i'm using PHPMyAdmin, and the DB is InnoDB. Not sure which of those (or either) is the database engine to be honest (my lack of php knowledge is semi-related to my lack of db usage). Oh for the love of god, after around 10 hours trying to fix this problem...

    PHP Slim Post Request

Carnage you're my hero. Okay, so step 5 is the problem. Does 'base64_decode' convert the base64 into a binary file in PHP? Also, since i'm a tad behind on the terminology for these things, how is a binary file different from base64? I was under the impression that base64 was a binary file :lol...

    PHP Slim Post Request

Okay, scratch that, i'm finally managing to send it in, but it's saving in the database in this format ""\/9j\/4AAQSkZJRgABAQAAAQABAAD\/2wBDAAIBAQEBAQI" (but much longer), and as a result wont actually show in an imageview, whereas the images that work are binary files that i'm base64 decoding...

    PHP Slim Post Request

Hello again  So this one's been driving me a little crazy recently, not least of all because i've never looked at php before. I'm doing an assignment where i'm creating a restapi service on gcp, which gets data from a rpi and displays the data on a mobile app. And it's working beautifully...

Potentially the longest thread in history...

That's the best kind  The sleep tracking's pretty helpful as well to be fair. And I kept seeing these fitness trackers on Amazon that float around £20/£30, how are they so cheap? Does it still seem accurate? Oh, and happy new year everyone! Hope you all had a great night, and i'm sure...

Oh that's interesting, i've never seen that breakdown before, i'll keep it in mind. But yeah, I suppose if they give the option to track swimming, it'd better be a pretty good seal  Anyone here got a fitbit or something similar?

    Upgrade or fresh build?

Damn, I swear when I built mine it was like a pound per GB, that is cheap  I didn't think about wear and tear on the psu, yeah maybe that's for the best too :( Everything really, I'm not bothered about maxing out new games so much, but I have games like Total War: Warhammer that...

    Upgrade or fresh build?

My systems a little (very) old at this point. I built it back in 2012 (thanks for the help PP), and it's still performing to a decent standard, but it's starting to show its age. Specs are as follows: CPU: i5 2500 RAM: 8GB 1600mhz GPU: R9 270 (added at a later date) Storage: A 6 year old 1TB...

Potentially the longest thread in history...

Congrats PP! :D Random question. You know when you get devices that are '50 meter water resistant', does that mean "If you drop it in the sink, don't worry", or can I literally wear this swimming, in the shower, etc, and not need to think twice? Because my parents bought me a Fitbit Charge 3...

    Old PC, games, what do?

Best advice i can give is to just google the system specs of the games you want to play, and compare. For example, these are the Halo 2 system specs (2004) and you appear to meet those in all but gpu. Same situation with Half life 2 and mirrors edge, but although i can tell these games require...
