VLAN/ DHCP config on separate interface

You need a static route telling the NVR and/or the Sonicwall how to get from .17.xxx to .22.xxx EDIT: OR, the Sonicwall needs to have an IP in the .22 subnet so that the VLAN are routable.

VPN - How does the client become a part of the private network?

The simple is answer is that it uses a route table to transfer traffic to the VPN gateway. If Machine B is 192.168.1.100, and Site A's subnet is 172.16.10.xxx, whatever is doing the routing (switch, router, etc) will likely need a static route so it knows that traffic going to/from 192.168.1.100...

    Moving Away From HP Servers?

My company generally uses IBM SystemX servers. The most common being the 3650. They make wonderful ESXi hosts especially in raid 10. I love them. If a client wants to get things done on the cheap, then we go towards HP, but never ever Dell. :)

    Server Monitoring Software

Kaseya, N-Able and Orion are the three I'm most familiar with. None of which are free, but they do the job the best.

    So.... SSD!

From what I can see, TRIM is supported with Raid0 now on all newer drives. I'll probably end up just getting one drive, but was just curious what most people do... I've never had the need to install apps or store data on other drives... I've always just kept a huge main drive and extras were...

    So.... SSD!

I'm talking about Raid 0 with the SSD's.... Buy 2 SSD's and put them in Raid 0, or painfully buy 1 larger SSD

    So.... SSD!

I'm dealing with a failing hard drive (WD1501FASS 1.5tb) and considering replacing with an SSD down the road when it does finally die. As we all well know, $/gb sucks with SSD's. Is there any discussion about buying say (2) 120gb drives and running in RAID 0 for $250 as opposed to getting one...

HELP i messed up win7 install on ssd!!!

Which SSD is it? I've seen some people having issues with 120gb Corsairs and needing to update the firmware on the drive. Maybe give that a shot...

Calling for the advice from electricians and at-home DIY'ers...

Looks like it was the 50's that 3-wire became standard, but not necessarily the outlets. Now i have something to read at work! ;)

Calling for the advice from electricians and at-home DIY'ers...

I have no idea when they became standard... probably 70-80's? It sounds to me like the first owners need to do electrical upgrades probably for newer appliances or even safety concerns. New homes are wired with the same 3 leads. Now that I think of it, your house may have originally been wired...

Yep - if you've got all three, you're good to go. You're correct about the switch... and it is probably only wired to one socket so you can have one switched and one non-switched with a 2-socket outlet.

Calling for the advice from electricians and at-home DIY'ers...

White leads are positive, black are negative and the exposed copper are the grounds. The number of black/white does not matter... just hook them up properly and usually on the back of the outlet there is a greenish/blueish screw designated for the ground (the exposed wire). Shut the breaker...

    Are My Speakers Blown?

OK. This makes my head hurt. Let's clarify a few things. The/A bass = an instrument tuned to produce low frequencies Bass = Low frequencies When you sound is coming from "the bass", are you referring to an instrument? Or are you referring to the low frequency sound coming from the speaker...
