well, I didn't "get" the fan to stay on always. It just comes on and stays on because my computer is always hot. why do you want it on all the time anyways, even when the comp isn't hot?

just an update: my computer has been running a lot cooler and quieter. it seems as tho the fan is on continuously, but it is quiet so it doesn't really bother me.

Hard disk drive?

well, I actually look the computer apart and cleaned some large dust bunnies out of the fan and heatsink area, but did not remove the heatsink. it's been okay so far, but I doubt it will last. I doubt all that noise was coming from a couple dust bunnies.

from maryland...could probably hit up a Best Buy and see what they've got. What's an HD or HDD? Different than an external hard drive?

What is TG? I think I actually want an external hard drive so I can back up my other files as well.

well, I've had the fan change TWICE before and it fixes the probably temporarily, but it always comes back...I don't know what to do.

well, I bought a $30 Targus cooling pad at Staples. hopefully it works...is that a reputable brand?
