What does the brightness rating on a monitors specs mean? For example, 350 cd/m2. How does that compare to something that states for example, 250cd/m2? What is a the typical brightness setting? for games, and also for editing photos an a screen?

I tried running the windows scan disk program the other day....and the scan took 12 hours to complete, and then it was done, the computer would not load windows. It comes up with a screen that says "Windows Error Recovery" with the options to launch startup repair, or start windows normally...

UNfortunately I do not have a disc. The exact message when I turn the computer on is "Windows could not start because the following file is corrupt or missing: <windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe. Please reinstall a copy of the above file" Does that help make the problem easier to identify?
