I just got a sony viao with built-in Wifi. It says I have excellent connection to wireless newtworks (from my home, from school, from coffee shops, etc) but when I am unable to access the internet or use my outlook express or aol. What is going on?

I am not into gaming, and I will not be photo/video editing much, if at all. I do a lot of multitasking. I looked in to the P4 with HT, but it is soimply not portable enough for me. Would an amd athlon 64 or a pentium m suit me better?

I really don't know what hyperthreading is and what it does; thus, I don't know if I need it.

I heard mac will be releasing to public new, updated products (I plan on purchasing a mac powerbook). Should I wait? Will prices change for current products? Does anyone know any information about what should be expected from this Jan 11 release?
