    After Affects of Worm

    "temp" folder?

Nightman They are .tmp files, they contain temporary data from every document ever opened for purposes of holding that data until the next "save" is clicked. It is perfectly okay to delete them. Although, disk cleanup does the same thing (deletes .tmp files)

You sure You have put the Windopws XP Pro CD, shutdown the computer completely, and restarted the PC and you do not see a message that says "press any key to boot from cd?" If not, you may have to setup your CMOS to boot from CD first.

Here's an easy thing to do What most people mean when they say delete temp files is to do a search of your hard drive for *.tmp and delete what you find. This will increase your PC's performance if you have a high amount of .tmp files. People that deal with documents, spreadsheets and such...

    Hibernate

That is probably That is probably your best workaround. Unless someone else can think of anything. There are very few places that Hibernate is controlled from in XP. This has got to be due to some security measure that Microsoft has built into XP Pro.

    Hibernate

Just read this Hey, this was taken from Logitech's recent update readme notes: Is that what you are talking about, the sleep button on the keyboard? It sounds like this recent update Logitech iTouch 2.15, filename: it215enu.exe for some reason messed up your sleep button. I love it when a...

    Hibernate

Okay Although it shouldn't even give you a hibernate option if it's not working right, I would try deselecting "Enable Hibernation" under the "Hibernate" tab. Then click "OK" Then go back in and select "Enable Hibernation" again. Then try resetting the "Power Button" settings to hibernate...

    sound regedit help.

Hmmm Did you add a .current and .default key to each of the open and Close keys subfolders? And did you attribute the sounds in the Sounds and Audio devices area under your particular scheme?

    After Affects of Worm

Yep Well, it wont hurt to download it from here, but I exported the file from my own registry. It has the proper registry settings for exefiles regardless of Windows OS, which the virus changes: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command The entry should be: "%1\" %*" As oppossed to the...

    Outlook Expess mail duplication

Spam Killer There are also all sorts of spam killers that can stop the junk mail coming in. I have not had to much fun with Mcafee's Spamkiller because it has to scan your mail before you can look at it. It seems to take forever at times.

    After Affects of Worm

try this if you haven't already run XP install. The malware of yaha actually connects to the items on your desktop and launches itself each time you double-click one of these instead of the intended purpose. You can disable this feature of the worm by: Download this file and rename it exe...
