S1155 Sandy Bridge MoBo selection XFire

Yeah P67 is the best chipset for the Sandy Bridge, especially if you plan on overclocking and using a dedicated video card. The H67 series is the one you want if you want to use the integrated video. Here's a mobo with a reliable brand; it supports crossfire; and its under $150. Newegg.com -...

New system build $400 excluding GPU

Don't get the x4 635, it only has 2mb L2 cache. The i3 540 is way better than it, and even though its only dual core it has 4 total threads for multitasking. For gaming tho, I think the x2 555 will be your best bet, considering it fits in well with your budget too.

    Upgrade or save?

If anything Isay buy a good psu and video card for now. Then when you build a system later on you can still use those parts.

Wireless G will work too, but you can get a wireless N one for the same price and its more "future proof" so might as well get it. Not only does it have a wider range, but its also faster (if you ever get a wireless N router later on).

New system build $400 excluding GPU

True true about the PSU lol. I noticed that too, but I figured the price was decent for a reliable brand. I guess that's why its called the "builder series" though lol.

New system build $400 excluding GPU

help picking out parts to build computer

If you dropping around 5k then why not go SSD and a WD black HDD? Stay away form the WD Green series. I recommended these: SSD: Newegg.com - OCZ Vertex 2 OCZSSD2-2VTXE120G 2.5" 120GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) HDD: Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB...

    Upgrading computer

I'll agree with Muff. Your cpu and ram are good enough for now. I would throw the upgrade money into a high end video card if you game frequently, otherwise an i7 950 with a nice motherboard and some DDR3 ram will be helpful.

Building Gaming Desktop - Advice please

The motherboard doesn't usually include a wifi adapter so you'll have to pick one up. Just make sure that it is wireless N. And for the small difference in price then I say yes go with the quad core i5 760. If you just want a dual core tho then get the i3 540. Still a strong chip for the price...

Building Gaming Desktop - Advice please

The i3's are dual core chips with 2 physical cores but 4 total threads for multitasking. The i5's are usually quad cores with 4 physical cores and 4 total threads. The i7's are quad cores with 4 physical cores and 8 total threads. (and the high end i7's are 6 cores with 6 physical cores and 12...
