well i know its not broken because i had it hooked up to my laptop before i built the computer and it worked fine. ive only had these for a couple days.

yes, everything is connected correctly, and i tried installing the new drivers for the motherboard but there is still no option for a 3 channel system do i need a sound card? thats what my buddy suggested but it just doesn't seem right.

I've heard that too. And not to be repetitive, but would you probably reccommend just go ahead and picking up a copy of Vista when I build this system? If so, 32 or 64 bit?

I was also moderately worried about buying Vista right now, and still haven't decided whether or not I should stick with XP for a couple months when I buy this desktop.

Thanks a lot. I made some changes to the build with the suggestions you had; I went with the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 over the Tuniq only because money. About sticking with XP for now, wouldn't it be smarter to go ahead and get Vista while I'm building a new system so I start fresh with it...
