Most late starters pick it up for 1 of 3 reasons.
1. Misconceived notion that it reduces stress.
2. People around them.
3. Smoke breaks at work.

Number 3 is an all time high around here due to the staff shortages. It's ok to head out for a smoke break 10 times a day but you get yelled at for going to take a piss. Hell, even I was told not to head outside to vape when I was at Iconic. I just followed the smokers out and was never questioned.

Joe, I have the 2.0 installed in bios but i didn't use it for windows 10. I didn't know about it till i checked when i first checked into windows 11. The issue is you have to reinstall all your programs when you switch over to 2.0. Or at least this board (Asus). Maybe later they will do a work around or let you switch over to 2.0 without loosing all my data to memory sticks. That is a pain in the ass. I have so many videos and photos in this computer, that it would take at least 100gb or more. That don't include all my music on the disc. Games and other stuff i have too. Maybe there is a work around for it but i haven't heard of one yet.

I quit in 1998 and haven't picked up one since. I don't have this issue with other smokers, I don't work or am around others that do so i am lucky i guess.

He loves the socialising, and his friends smoke a lot when they are out at bars and stuff. So he decided to pick it up as it would benefit his social life. Except it's already extended beyond social smoking, as he frequently leaves his laptop during our Voip chats for a smoking break outside.

Yea, you create an install media that doesn't require it....or simply don't use it if it's a hassle anyways. It's not worth the trouble.

And.... your not currently doing any back ups? That is a very big no-no. If something were to suddenly happen (like your drive suddenly dies)) you could lose everything you have instantly. I fresh install is not as bad as you think it might be. You can get a 2 terabyte (2000 gigs) drive for under $50. today to back up all your data with room to spare
