Need Help !!

My Laptop was fine until yesterday. Today, when I opened it, there is a vertical white dotted line on the left side of the screen. I thought it was due to the virus but after checking I was assured there is no virus in my Laptop.
So, anyone knows what's the cause and how to remove it?

Is the line there during the boot process as well, i.e. during the splash screen when you first turn the laptop on?

Most likely a bad display, worst case would be a failing GPU.

If you hook the laptop up to an external display, is the line on the external display as well? Or just on the main laptop's display?

If it's on just the laptop display, the screen is going bad. If it's on the external display as well, then it's possibly a failing GPU.

As long as we haven't seen, can't say nothing.
