Sony Vaio won't load from restored disks

Sony Vaio PCVRX680G desktop won't load from restored disks.

A friend tried to use her restored disks because her computer was acting up. She got the first disk loaded but the second one hung up.

Now she gets the following error: "boot from ATAPI CD-ROM: no emulation".

Any ideas?

Use the Windows Install CD when I had my Vaio those restore disks where nothing but trouble the software it came with was horrible too corel works 2002 always locked up.

Only has the restore disks. No seperate WinXP CD.

I hate when they do that to people. I'm almost sure Vaios come with a Sony OEM XP disc. If not just print off the restore CD innstructions and follow them. Sorry I can't be of more use it's been ages since I used a restore CD on my Vaio.

use nlit to strip the xp part out of the cd or use powermax in my signature to wipe your drive clean, then try restoring it

She had a grease smudge on one of her disks.
