My friend keeps telling me regular Windows XP will not run on an Athlon 64 processor, but Ive read so many times of people doing that. Without the 64-bit version. Can the 32-bit version of Windows (XP) run on an Athlon 64-bit processor?

Thanks :p

definetely . . .

in fact the 32-bit windows xp works better than the current xp 64 beta . . .

correction : it will work great, but it wont "unleash" the true powers of 64-bit

Your friends a dumbass.

LOL Haha exactly what I'm saying to him. Athlon 64-bit processors can run 32-bit applications. Windows XP is a 32-bit application (not the 64-bit trial you can get)... So it should work and ive seen so many people with XP and AMD 64s... :p

*GASP* Double post ;)

Another one of my friends (uh, sorta hehe), told me yes XP works on it, so when I told my friend who says no, he's like blah blah he got 0wned :p So, what you say, what I have actually SEEN, it's all true :)

basically the windows xp 64-bit unleashes the true potential of the AMD athlon 64 and the intel itanium processors. You still can use the athlon 64 but you wont see the true potential of it yet.
