where oh where could my hard drive be.??

Thanks for taking the time to help...
I cannot see my hard drive anymore.
It's not on my desk top with the rest of the virus (mess)
no really, it was there until I upgraded to win2000
then things went so very wrong.
C: drive is gone in the abyss and I fear it is missing me
as I am missing him.
ANY help would be so very welcome!
