hi

ive currently got an SIS chipset MS-7005 mobo.

i wanna get a new one cos its crap, plus ppl tell me it isnt good with my graphics card (GF6600GT)

ive found out its a socket 478. Its a celeron 2.6GHz.

I know its not the best processor, but its what i got, so plz no posts of getting a new processor.

ive been on some other sites where some tell me about the what processors it can take.

some say
Supports Intel® Pentium 4 Northwood/Prescott (Socket 478) processors.

does this mean no celeron, cos others say
Socket 478 for Intel® P4 processors (Willimate 478 and Northwood 478 / Celeron 478) with 400/533 MHz

it seems that all the ones that mention celeron are all Micro-ATX, and i really dont want one of these.

any help on the subject would be hot

thx

If you're unsure go to the motherboard manufacturer website, if it still doesn't say it supports cellery then it most likely doesnt

to my knowledge they all will run if they are p4 socket 478 ( most likey northwood cores ). The 478 package celerons on just pentium 4's without the extra cache ram on them, which makes them celerons.
But if you do not want to take a change just make sure it says Pentium 4/Celeron

so technically, all it should need it to be able to support northwood cores?

ok thx
