Ok I might sound like a idiot but I want to have two monitors for my computer and what i understand is that you need a special video card to do so...So what makes the video card different that i can hook to monitors up to it.

Yeah, you need a video card that supports dual monitors. It will either have two VGA outputs, a DVI & VGA, dual DVI, or VGA and S-cable outputs.

What video card do you have at the moment?

If your card doesn't have 2 outputs, than you can pick up cards that do have 2, for very little e.g. the 5200 will do.

Are you going to be gaming? Or is it for psp/video editing/encoding etc.

Ya, as long as there is any 2 outputs on the back of the card. It doesnt matter what connector it uses because you can always get a converter to change it to whatever you like.
