USB HardDrive on a Mac?

I have a external USB harddrive which is formatted in NTFS. I connect it to all my Windows machines and it shows up working 100% ok. I really need this to work on my powerbook OSx 10.3 but even though it lights up hmms like it usually does - the mac will not provide a way to access it.

How do I do it? Thanks

Well, the drive is formatted in NTFS and that is not a mac format. Although I'm no Mac guru, or know much about them for that matter, I do believe you can only use your HDD for one platform at a time. Right now you have it set for PC, and if you wanted to use it for Mac you would have to format it to a Mac file system. Althought I dont know how to do that. This is what I think, I may be wrong though.

Ok thanks, NTFS works for mac as read only. The drive is not formatted in a MSDOS format from a mac that is suppose to work on mac and PC (and it does) with the exception of the powerbook. It will not read the drive regardless of formatting.

Thanks again
