upgrading pc help!

Im wanting to upgrade my pc to gaming standards as this is not playing games for me, it just freezes.

Im only a student and i dont have much money so would i get any money from selling these things?

how much wound i need to spend to be able to play games, i dont want a huge gamiung machine, just one that can actually play games!

well my computer specs are.

Processor=Intel Pentium4 2.6 GHZ
RAM=1.2GB RAM DDR Infineon
Hard Drive=112 GB HD
Video=NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 128MB RAM

and they work just fine while I know I can upgade on somethings it works for most games. one being Black & White 2. but it all just depends on what type of games you are going to be running and installing.
