Upgrade Cel D to Pent D under Windows Xp

I am trying to maximise my time right now at work.
I got a computer system that I need to build. However the only thing that I am missing from it is the Intel Pentium D CPU.
Is it possible for me to install Windows Xp using the Celeron D CPU, and then replace the CPU with an Pentium D with out having to format the hard drive?

what you cant do is put a xp fomatted drive in a different computer that won't work.

if I remember correctly..

You can change/add up to 5(?) components inside a pc before you need to format.

Not sure if that is 5 in one go or 5 in general (I'd say its in one go)

yeh but u gotta format if you change ur HDD , CPU , Mobo , RAM
