Too Late to buy?

I am thinking of buying a Asus Radeon 9600xt (CAD$250), is this a good deal?
I am not a gaming person, just play BF1942, and CS and maybe Unreal 2004! With all the news of x800 etc, is now a good time to buy, or I should just wait and get something better like 9800pro?

Any help will be great!
