ok for over a month i have been trying to fix my friends computer right. well i had takin everything out and the floppy drive was missing pins so i got today a new. So i took the thermal pad off replaced it with thermal paste. Rebuild the computer and still im getting this error " NTLDR" is missing and i dont know what this does or means.

didnt see that before i was weiting so wahjt i just go and press r and then type those 2 things in or what.

looks that way to me,ive never used "windows recovery" anything, im not a windows person

yea, you put in the windows cd (and if you have SATA get the SATA driver floppy you used to install windows ready) then you get windows to boot from cd (may have to change boot order) once everything is loaded it should ask if you want to install windows or repair, hit R for repair then apparently use copy function to copy X:i386NTLDR and X:NTDETECT.COM from your CD drive (X being cd drive letter) to C:
remember if you're confused about recovery console to type "help" into it

Yeah I had that same problem about a month ago.
Nothing works you will have to reinstall windows
