Sound effect thing on GB mobo

my motherboard came with this thing that does sound effects on it.

its a gigabyte app


the thing is, its absolute crap. i cant get the thing to just play music and sounds normally. so i want to get rid of it. but its not in add/remove programs or any of that, so im kind of lost.

is it the sound effect thing for 8-channel audio? i have that too. however i didn't even bother with it. i slapped in my SB Live! mp3+ because integrated audio blows on any mobo. it eats away at CPU cycles. i'd rather offload it.

buy a sound card, uninstal your sound drivers, disable your integrated audio in the BIOS, shove the new one into the pci slot, plug in the CD-In connector from your CD or DVD drive, and install the new drivers. eureka! not only do you not have to bother with Sound Effect, but your sound has been offloaded which equals better performance!

if you do that, i can almost garantee that you won't have anymore sound problems.
