So, I have already 2 Serial ATA harddrives and they are connected to SATA controller on my mobo.
It's a silicon image controller and my mobo is Asrock K7VT6.
I need more hard drives, so what happens when I connect another serial ata controller into my pci slot?
This one has RAID, will everything be messed up adding more SATA controllers?

You may....

run into some resource conflicts. If you're going to add in a SATA RAID card, could you run all the drives off that and disable your onboard SATA controller? My mobo supports both SATA and SATA RAID. What is your requirement on the number of drives you need and the RAID level you're interested in using and I can do some more research for you.....

I use only these 2 drives as RAID (mirror)
Rest of the disks would not contain so important data, I would need 2 extra disks..
So the addon card wouldnt have to have RAID

Why not just plug the ATA drives into the IDE ports of your mobo?

Anyway, no, you shouldn't have a problem. Your add-on controller card will be able to handle things on its own. I wouldn't go into RAID, though. That just makes things more complicated and what would be the point in your system?
