I want to get the Logitech x-530 speakers on newegg.com and they have both the retail and the OEM versions...the OEM ends up being about $8 cheaper. That sounds fine with me. Are there any drawbacks to buying OEM? The only OEM product I have now is a $7 3.5 drive. I hear the manufacturer doesn't honor warranties for OEM and stuff like that. Any disadvantage to getting the OEM version of those speakers? Thanks!

yes usually the manufacturer will not put a warranty on oem products. also you will not get the box or instructions, but if its just speakers than that shouldnt be a problem. if its from new egg than oem should be fine.

OEM: Original Equipment Manufacturer

Like Slayer said, you ownt get any boxes or warranties. Since it is straight from the manufacturer, no marketing or anything have gone over it with their boxes and their 'man'erisms. :)
