PSU problems... will it work?

Alright I'm gonna use the stock PSU that is coming with my case. Im gonna buy a better one eventually either way but I just dont have the extra money for one right now seeing how my budget is tight already. Two questions - 1) Will it work 2) if it dies all of a sudden could this have any effect on the computer itself?

AMD Athlon 64 3000+
36.7 GB Raptor
XFX nVidida Geforce 6600gt agp
1 12v heatsink
1 12v harddrive cooler
2 80 mm Fans
