I have a micro atx board, INTEL D848PMBL. This is what I'm going to put on it,

P4 3.0 GHz 800 FSB
1 GIG PC3200 DDR RAM
2 Hard drives at 250 GB
2 CD DRIVES
Geforce 4 4600 Ti
Sound Card

I'm getting a demon case, http://www.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invtid=DEMON

My question is I want to get a 400+ WATT power supply, can any power supply (ATX) work with my mobo or do I have to get a dinky 160W micro atx power supply???

I'm sorry I don't understand your reply. 400+ is 400 Watts or better...

yeah the more power the better

the smaller powersource that you mentioned is for the really tiny boxes and those boxes are really small like shoebox small

Yeah cuz my previous gateway had a 160W power supply. But with the specs I mentioned I wanna put a 450W-550W power supply, is that cool? As long as it supports p4 but it should be ok for my micro atx board.

yeah your board should have all the specs that are recomended but there is no such thing as too much power. Just remember to buy good power meaning from a reputable brand becasue then you know you are getting exactly what you pay for and that it wount break and take down everything you bought
