pci simple communications controller

i'm typing this from a friend's bosses laptop that i had to do a whole makeover on. everything went smooth but in the hardware manager there is an excalamation mark next to a device labeled as pci simple communications controller. i need to fix this before i return it cuz i'm actually getting paid for this repair and my rep' is sort of on the line.

I think what that is, is that the modem doesn't have the right (or any for that matter) drivers install. Maybe try going to the laptops website dell.com hp.com, etc.. and searching for the laptops model and for the drivers. Install those and see if those fix it. yeah thats what i thought it was, and remembered that the dude uses a wireless card adapter and router for his cable modem so screw it, if there are probs then i'll fix it later. shouldn't be though.
