Does a pci-e gfx card have to be specifically SLI compatible to work in an SLI capable motherboard??
I'm trying to use an ATI x300 with a DFI Infinity nf4 SLI mobo if you can tell me if this should work? I'm only trying to use on gfx card!

cheers,

joe

Thanks, you see the problem I'm having is that inserting the card causes the system not to post, no beeps or anything. I've swapped everything else out eliminating it all, but I'm thinking it could be the PSU, as it's only 300W. Do you think this is likely?

Cheers for the answer!

I've swapped the RAM with a known good stick. I've reset the CMOS about 20 times! Should a 300W PSU be enough for this setup? Seeing as it still won't post without the IDE cables plugged in (just drawing power for the mobo and anything mounted on it.)

thanks!
