PC Resets itself frequently

I just reformatted my PC, and I installed all my stuff back on it and had no problems. But I started running windows update and now it suddenly starts restarting it self every time I try to run internet explorer. Could I have downloaded bad updates? Or could this be something else like a HDD or something?

is it just when you use internet explorer?

also make sure you have correctly installed ALL the mobo chipset drivers....when AGP drivers aren't installed, you tend to get random restarts.

use spyware removal software and run a complete system anti-virus scan. make sure all that's up to date as well.

it could also be a psu problem. check to see if you have a strong enough psu for you computer

Could be a virus similar to the one that wouldnt let you access the microsoft website.....

Keeps restarting itself? Tell it to stop and take away the restart button!



Anyway,

1. Have a look in your device manager to see if you have anything highlighted as having a problem. Such as your SM_BUS.

2. Check your power-management settings.

3. Try running a chkdsk on your HDD.

When it reboots, where you doing anything at the time? Watching a movie, playing a game, inserting a thumb-drive,...?
