old computer use

My dad is getting a new computer within the next few weeks and I'm thinking of using his old one just for downloading off limewire and bittorrent without tying up my computer do you think this will work?

winxp pro sp1

personally...its a very good system for its age, but dump xp...

i would install windows 2000 and under, you'll experience a large boost in speed, ask anybody

why dump xp? the only thing slowing it down is the panda antivirus 2005 but i'm going to take that off and use a different antivirus so it will run faster.

if your just going to use the computer for internet, go ahead, use XP.

But...if you want to play games, try to use a different O.S. as XP will hog up all the memory, unless you change the performance settings.

Windows 2000/98 are still going to work fine, they still get updates, and game playing will run alot better.

If you are going to use XP, upgrade to service pack 2.
It has a pop-up blocker as well as the firewall.

I'm not using it for games because the video card sucks
