I have an Elitegroup 848P Mobo and a Pentium 4 CPU. Upon booting there is no POST beeps and no display. Having removed all extras, ram, videocard, etc, I've come to the conclusion that either the CPU or MOBO are bad, or both. I don't have a second machine to test with so I am kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place.
I was thinking about purchasing a new motherboard (ASUS or something good) and testing the CPU that way, I was wondering if the CPU was bad would this damage my new motherboard at all? The motherboard was new and I don't know how it could have been shot, shand-offs were used and everything seemed good. Anyhows, thanks alot.
