New hard drive doesn't show in "my computer"!!

So i install my new slave hard drive, make sure jumpers are correct etc, turn computer on, bios finds hard drive, go to windows and it's not there....

I check system/units, the hard drive is there and windows says it's working properly even with the right name etc... What am i forgetting?

Everything seems to say it finds it and it's working ok, but windows just doesn't assign a drive to it...

Help the computer noob please!! =)

What Windows version are you running? You may have to manually assign it a drive letter.

If you've got Win2000, you can right click on my computer, go to manage, and view the partitions on the drive. I think it also works in XP.
