Hey, I am in need of a 2nd monitor for my job, but I'm having trouble deciding on the monitor. I've narrowed it down to four. Again, this is strictly for my job, no gaming will be done in it. My job doesn't involve anything graphic or video related. I also have a $20 newegg coupon that I will be using as well.

Acer G7 G237HLbi Black 23" 6ms (GTG) HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight Tilt Adjustable LCD Monitor IPS 250 cd/m2 DCR 100,000,000:1 (1,000:1) - Newegg.com - $110 AR

LG 23MP47HQ Black 23" 5ms HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor IPS 250 cd/m2 DFC 5,000,000:1 (1000:1) - Newegg.com - $120

SCEPTRE E248W-1920 Black 24" 5ms HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 DCR 5,000,000:1 (1000:1) Built-in Speakers - Newegg.com - $120

Dell E2414Hr Black 24" 5ms Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 1,000:1 - Newegg.com - $130 AR

The first two look to be IPS and the last two TN. Not having DVI is fine. I don't even remember seeing IPS the last time I bought a monitor. But for comparison sake my main computer has this: Asus VH238H Black 23" Full HD HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor w/Speakers 250 cd/m2 ASCR 50,000,000:1 - Newegg.com

I have a LG IPS and love it, It's a 5ms and there is faster but it is fine for me. The big plus to IPS is the colors are very vivid at any angle, With the TN monitors the colors start to fade when you see it at a angle and I'm not sure if this is because it's IPS or not or just me thinking it but the colors seem so much better on my IPS. Mine however is a 27 inch.

I have an LG IPS monitor too, but then I got a 24" Dell IPS monitor and gave the 23" LG to the Mrs., still a nice monitor and has been working well

Thanks for the feedback thus far. Seems like an IPS monitor may be the route to go.

One thing I noticed, that I didn't noticed before, is that the LG only has a 1 year warranty while the Acer has a 3 year warranty. That makes me lean towards the Acer.

Acer seems to be a little more hit or miss with the quality from what I've read but I used to like them a lot, Still have a 19" from before wide screen was a thing and it still works great as does the 22" wide screen the LG replaced and both were Acer and both still get used quit a bit with no problems at all for me.
