Well, my brand new self-built PC died upstairs (been using it for 2 months at least now, no hitch). This is what happens. I press the power button, and after 3 seconds, it beens 4 times in rapid succession, then sits there. Nothing posts to the screen, and everything inside the PC seems to be running fine. Specs include Windows XP pro, AMD 2600+, 512mb pc3200 ram, an 80gb hard drive, a dvd 16x rom drive, 6 case fans. Right before this problem happened, the computer had frozen on my dad, and since it wasnt responding to anything done on keyboard and mouse, he held the power button for 5 seconds and it powered down. Ever since, it wont start past that beeping. Beeping stops, and nothing happens. Monitor goes into power save mode, and computer just sits there running doing god knows what. Whats wrong with it?
