Mouse Problem

I have this problem with my serial mouse.... Sometimes, when I turn on my pc, the arrow just doesn't move at all, and I have to reboot a couple of times for it to get moving again....

Also, when I'm browsing, sometimes the cursor just 'gets mad' and begins to move around and opening menus without me touching the mouse! I scanned my pc but no viruses were found. Does anyone knows what can be the problem? Thanks.

Do they still make serial mice?

Are you having IRQ conflicts? Sometimes that can cause your hardware to go haywire.

Check it out in the device manager.

Well I'm using a serial one cause it seems I have some motherboard malfunction and can't use my PS2 one...

Can you please explain a little bit more in detail cause I'm a beginner with regards to these things..... thanks.
