Memory Queries

Hey all,

I want to upgrade my system's memory in the next month, which currently has 2x256mb memory. I do not know what make they are but they were the cheapest. I am planning on getting a 512mb card, to take the PC up to 1 gig for gaming.

I do not know much about ram. I know that ddr400 is what I should go for. My motherboard is a MSI VIA KT4V and can only support one 400 memory module, and it only works with certin brands.

What I want to know, is it a huge difference which memory I choose? I have seen 512 memory from £40 to £100.

When it comes to memory you get what you pay for, Corsair XMS Ram is awsome if you can afford it. Also if you plan on gaming, get a stick of 1gb instead of 512mb, alot of the newer games and some applications take advantage of the 1gb ram.
