lcd monitor questions and recs?

I'm looking into getting an 18in or 19in LCD monitor for gaming, watching some movies, and some graphics. I know CRTs are better for these purposes. Does anyone know any good models and brands for these size LCDs for those purposes, primarily gaming. I know higher contrast ratio (at least 600:1) and low response time. Or should I just keep my KDS 19in crt. any of you guys use LCDs?

samsung and benQ have the fastest. and it seems to be the best quality over all in LCDS. from all the reveiws ive read.

sorta expensive, but they are LCDS. but ive read that 12ms is basicaly the MAX in LCDS to get no ghosting and very little motion blur. so 16's and 25's just suck no matter what any one tells ya for gaming anyways
if you do get an LCD, you should go to www.pcnation.com they have a 'no dead-pixil' policy and i heard they have resonable service.

also to be honest, do you really need an 18" or 19" they are pretty big. LCDs are basicaly an inch bigger. so a 17 is the size of a 18" crt go to the store a compare sizes err something
