Laptop Pentim M CPU Running [B]REALLY[/B] slow...

OK, in my laptop, I have a Pentim M CPU running REALLY slow. It is rated at 1.6GHz, but CPU-Z is telling me that it is running at 598MHz, Front Side Bus is 99MHz, and the Bus Speed is 398...

Is this thing retarded or is it something that the Pentium M does, so it uses less voltage? Speaking of voltage, it is at 0.998...


Anyone want to enlighten me???

Saves battery life. Leave CPUID and do something processor intensive. the processor speed and everything else will rise. in otherwords 1.6ghz is the max. If it doesnt need the power, it will not use it.

Hmm, I noticed that when I start CPU-Z, it says 15XX, but then drops down. I guess this is a Pentium M feature??

Yeah my toshiba does that too.

My Comapq laptop does that too. It happens when it starts heating up. You should get SpeedFan, and max the settings out.
