How good are you at optimizing computers?

Just wondering, cause I got my old pc to play dvds and high graphic video games, use a scanner, a printer all without chopiness or with long loading times with piss poor specs. Here they are:

Company who made it: Maxtech
Intel Celeron 400Mhz CPU
48MB of memory
4MB onboard video card
SIS 620 motherboard
Windows 98 1st edition

And then I look around hearing people complain that their computer sucks or it's so slow...you just got to know what you are doing!

I'd say i'm pretty good at optimizing computers too.
I got Doom 3 to play on an old AMD Duron 800mhz (very slowly)
Got win xp to install on an old pentium1 166mhz (again very slow)

are you using older programs for dvd playing, scanner etc.

No, not really. I use Nero and ndvd for playing dvd's, and have direct x9. Yeah, the scanner is older, but it's not bad. It's a Visioneer usb touch scanner...the printer is kinda old, one of those walmart specials on lexmark!!
